Artisphere Announces 2008 Festivities

New festival components boost event to another level.

Greenville, SC – Artisphere, the International Arts Festival of Greenville, presented by Carolina First, will be held in Downtown Greenville’s Historic West End April 18-20, 2008. Named a “Top Twenty Event “by Southeast Tourism Society in 2007, Artisphere expects another spectacular year.

In 2007 Artisphere patrons packed festival venues from the Peace Center Concert Hall for Maya Angelou to the Outdoor Amphitheatre for Amos Lee and the Falls Park ART IN ACTION Stage for Brian Olsen leaving the Board of Directors wondering what the 2008 festival could possibly do to top that.

Board Chairman Ben Rook, Design Strategies, is confident they have done it. “This year’s Visual Artist applicants were the best we have seen yet,” commented Rook, “word of Artisphere is spreading throughout the festival circuit and we have fast become a ‘can’t miss it’ event for artists nationwide.”

In addition to the 100 artists that make up “Artist Row,” the festival is presenting a heavy-hitting line-up of free outdoor performances as well as an indoor “Signature Artist Series” featuring world renowned artists.
